Timber Flooring
Experience the warmth and durability of Japanese timber flooring. Our aromatic Hinoki cypress is GOHO certified and will transform any interior. Solid wood construction combines natural beauty with exceptional stability. Distinctive grain patterns and rich tones create timeless elegance, while traditional Japanese craftsmanship ensures lasting quality and performance.
Solid Japanese timber underfoot — warm, stable and built to last.
Sugi Timber Flooring is milled from solid Japanese cedar, cypress and fir — species prized for their warmth, fine grain and natural stability. Each board brings a soft, tactile surface and a depth of character that engineered and laminate floors simply can’t match.
Available in a considered range of widths and finishes, the flooring is straightforward to specify and lay, and supplied with full technical drawings and installation guidance. Aromatic Hinoki cypress carries GOHO certification and a fragrance that lingers in a room for years.
At its heart is sustainable Japanese timber. For centuries, Japan has managed its forests with a patience few countries can match — selecting, growing and harvesting with the next generation in mind. The result is a renewable, responsibly sourced material with a depth of grain and character that only time can produce.

What species is the flooring and how hard is it?
Japanese cedar and cypress flooring — see the Timber Specification Sheets for the Janka hardness and density of each species.
Is it suitable over underfloor heating?
Kiln-dried timber suits underfloor heating when properly acclimatised and installed to the guidelines; confirm for your specific build-up.
How is the flooring finished?
Finish with a penetrating hardwax or oil for a natural look — see the Finishes & Colours guide.
Is the timber dimensionally stable?
Boards are kiln-dried to reduce movement; radial and tangential shrinkage figures are on the Timber Specification Sheets.
How do I maintain a timber floor?
Sweep or vacuum regularly and re-oil high-traffic areas periodically; spot repairs are straightforward with an oil finish.
